I recently had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed by Mr Robertson. During my whole experience Mr Robertson was very professional, putting me at ease and instilling me with confidence in his skills. He was a very good listener and gave me a full explanation of the whole procedure and what to expect following my surgery thus reducing my anxieties. I felt I was in very safe hands and have since made a full recovery.

I was referred to Mr Robertson by my GP after an ultrasound test showed I had a right groin hernia. My Company provided me private medical insurance which I opted to use to speed up timescales for surgery. I opted for The Spire Hospital and booked a consultation with Mr Robertson. I was late for my appointment due to a motorway delay beyond my control. I got a phone call direct from Gavin just checking things were ok which I thought was real customer service as I was the one late. On arrival and expecting to wait for an available new time slot I was seen within 10 mins by Gavin. I do have to mention Spire as the experience with these guys is like a trip in the escape lounge at the airport, calm, relaxed and enjoyable. Within a few minutes of discussion with Gavin I felt at ease with what to expect. A further assessment revealed I had in fact a bi-lateral hernia, left and right groin were needing repair. Gavin opened up his diary and I sat there smiling as I was booking my appointment direct with the consultant, this was so personable. A few weeks later I was in for the operation, Gavin came in to see me to talk me through the process again and I felt no nerves at all. The operational procedure was undertaken using ‘keyhole’ Laparoscopic surgery. Again after the operation Mr Robertson came to discuss how it went with me and if I had any questions which I didn’t as everything had been explained to me clearly. From a patient perspective I would certainly recommend Mr Robertson in his speciality he has a calming delivery of the procedure and you feel confident that you are in safe hands.

I recently had my gall bladder removed by Mr Robertson at the Nuffield Hospital. Throughout the whole procedure I felt he explained everything, answered any questions and listened. After 2 weeks of recovery I am returning to work/normal duties. Mr Robertson and the staff were friendly and professional throughout the entire process.

I consulted Mr Robertson about an inguinal hernia that I had been living with for some years. As it had changed and was giving more discomfort I decided to try and get something about it. Mr Robertson was friendly and courteous and immediately instilled confidence and trust. His examination identified a secondary incisional hernia that I had been unaware of. Mr Robertson explained clearly the proposed procedure to me dealing with all aspects, risks and possible after effects. The procedure was carried about 3 weeks after the initial consultation,the delay being due to my diary restrictions. The care and skill of Mr Robertson and all his colleagues and staff at Spire Hospital was second to none and I returned home the same evening with none of the possible side effects. Recovery has been quicker than I was expecting and after two weeks I am back to doing almost everything. I would recommend Mr Robertson to anyone and am very grateful elected to first consult him.
